The herpes simplex virus, when appearing in the
genitals, can sometimes mimic urethritis or urinary infection. This
is the cause of a very common condition that results in blisters on
the face, and in and around the genital area. It is believed that most
people get infected in childhood. The symptoms of the disease will appear
throughout the life.
Valtrez
works by slowing the growth and spread of the herpes virus so the body
can fight off the infection. As a result, Valtrex reduces your symptoms
and shortens the length of time you are sick.
Your treatment with Valtrex should begin as
soon you notice the first sign of symptoms (tingling, burning, blisters,
e.g.). To avoid stomach upset, take Valtrex with food. Your symptoms
may start to improve before the infection is completely treated.
Take all of the Valtrex that has been prescribed
to you even if you feel better. During treatment keep lesions clean
and dry. Also, wear loose clothing to prevent irritation.
